That's right the Los Angeles County Fair is right around the corner-literally and physically! It begins Labor Day Weekend on Saturday, September 3rd. Plan to attend one of the concerts and include a stay at the Artesia House Bed & Breakfast!

University Celebrations
It's celebration time for the neighboring universities! We just finished serving some of the Alumni of the Claremont Colleges!
Azusa Pacific University is celebrating Spring Commencement for all students on Saturday, May 7, 2011.
Commencement Ceremonies for the 7 Claremont Colleges will take place the weekend of May 14 & 15, 2011.
Western University of Health Sciences will hold their commencement ceremonies at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on May 19 & 20, 2011.
On May 27 & 28, 2011 University of La Verne will hold its commencement ceremonies.
California State Polytechnic University, Pomona aka Cal Poly Pomona will hold Commencement Ceremonies June 10-12, 2011.
Pitzer College has scheduled their Alumni Weekend for June 10-12, 2011.

I recently read that to really appreciate a place you are visiting, you should plan to explore areas by walking. That's great advice not only for tourism sake but for health sake as well.

5 of Top Colleges Near Artesia House Bed & Breakfast!
Long awaited by academics every year, U.S. News and World report today unveiled their 27th list of college rankings for universities and liberal arts colleges. And lots of applause should go locally. Among the top 50 universities were six in Southern California: CalTech (#7), USC (#23), UCLA (#25). UCSD (#35), UCSB (#39) and UC Irvine (#41).
And there were six liberal arts colleges in their category's top 50: Pomona College (#6), Claremont Mckenna (#11), Harvey Mudd (#18), Scripps (#23), Occidental (#36) and Pitzer (#46).

24th annual Fireworks Spectacular 9:15 p.m. (Gates open at 5 p.m.)
Also at the Fairplex, on July 7th from 4-8pm Prolong Twilight Cruise, July 10-11 The Great Train Expo, July 11 Here Comes the Bride Event, and the Mickey Thompson Exhibit continues at the NHRA Motorsports Museum.
Bonelli Park is again the host for the Jazz Fest West on July 17-18.

Repetory Opera Company
On Saturdays, June 19 & June 26 at 2pm the Repertory Opera Company is performing Carmen at First Christian Church. The church is across the street from Artesia House Bed & Breakfast!
